Things to know about ION

When ION Water was founded in 2004, the plan was to make great things for water sports from neoprene. The company’s owners were all avid surfers, and they wanted to create products that were so awesome that they would enjoy wearing them themselves. That meant a comfortable fit, a stylish look, and great functionality and durability to boot.

From boarding to biking

Wet suits for boarders were ION’s main business for a few years, but since the drive from the headquarter in Munich to the next surfable waters was a rather long one, the team engaged in a second pastime – mountain biking. In 2013 the first mountain bike pieces were drawn up, and, because the high standards of quality were applied to the new line of trade as well, became a huge success. Since then, ION has become one of the leading manufacturers for high-quality and great-looking mountain bike clothing and functional body armor.

Today, ION belongs to the Boards & More-Group, along with surfing-outfitter Fanfatic or SQLab, the producer of high-class bike parts.

ION Mountainbike Clothing for men, women and kids

These days, ION makes a complete range of cycling clothing and MTB shoes, next to accessoires like backpacks, fanny packs or safety gear such as helmets and protectors. Road bikers will have to search elsewhere, ION’s portfolio is all about mountain biking. There is a great choice of clothing for men, and an equally great choice of pieces for women. The Youth Collection ist well equipped with cool MTB jerseys, pants, gloves and caps for children.

If you top off your safety outfit with one of ION’s helmets, it’s safe to say you’re pretty safe, whatever you plan to do in the bike park.
